Faculty Spotlight: Mr.Maxwell

This week’s teacher spotlight focuses on Mr. Alex Maxwell. Mr Maxwell joined our faculty this year as a science and math teacher. He is also our Anime Club Advisor. His peaceful manner and his uncompromising dedication have made him a success at Lutheran East.


Let’s see what Mr. Maxwell has to share:


L.E.: What is your favorite Bible verse or quote?


Mr. Maxwell: “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” - Albert Einstein


L.E.: Tell us about your family.


Mr. Maxwell: I come from a family of three children, I am the youngest and only boy. My parents were a hardened Vietnam Veteran / Mechanic and a department store worker.



L.E.: Tell us about where you went to college.


Mr. Maxwell: I went to Clarion University in Pennsylvania. It's a small teaching school in north east PA. It's a fairly boring college town.



L.E. Tell us about your hobbies or sports you are interested in


Mr. Maxwell: I'm a true geek's geek. I love video games and anime. I own a gaming computer and a PS3 along with a goodly sized anime collection. I am currently playing Skyforge and Gauntlet on computer, and Destiny on PS3.


L.E.: If you had to choose Ohio State or Michigan, which would it be?


Mr. Maxwell: Michigan



L.E.: Why did you decide to become an educator?


Mr. Maxwell: I dreamed of being a teacher from a young age, the subject matter came later as I matured and learned more about myself.


We wish Mr. Maxwell many happy years here at Lutheran East. He has already made a significant difference in the lives of our students this school year. We are excited to see what happens in the future!
