Falcons Win On the Road to Finish Season 5-4!
The Lutheran East Falcons capped off their 2015 season with a victory over Pymatuning Valley, 26-14. The Falcons finish 5-4 on the year and made their place in the history books with the first winning season since 2006.
In the first quarter of action, the Falcons gave up 2 touchdowns but answered with a score of their own. Kaylin Heard (freshman) and Mark Churchill (senior) handled the majority of the workload on offense- breaking on-coming tacklers and fighting for extra yardage each time they carried the ball. Heard punched in a score to make the game 14-8 after the first.
In the second, Heard made plays with his feet and arm. He connected with senior Rodney Paradise for a couple receptions and found junior Tight End Marvell Harrison for a 12 yard touchdown pass. Paradise finished the day with 4 receptions for 30 yards and a kick return for 40 yards.
The Falcons stifling defense found a way to shut down the Lakers for the rest of the game. Like they did many times this year, Coach Perrotti's defense played aggressively and flew to the football to make plays. Heard gathered 2 fumble recoveries, Paradise caught an interception and senior Tyler Thompson grabbed a pick as well.
The Falcons put away the Lakers in the third and fourth with another touchdown run. Senior Will Hartson and sophomore Carlton Hoey each shared the ball with Churchill and Heard, and the Falcons wound the clock on a successful 2015 campaign.
