Lutheran East had a busy week during March 31st to April 4th. Our Tuesday chapel had a special presentation of the group Nu Covenant. They are a Christian group that finished top ten on the popular television show America's Got Talent. Students and staff alike really enjoyed the worship time we had during chapel. Reverend Childs followed their performance with a salient message regarding God's commandment , "Thou shalt not kill." Rev. Childs reminded us that our words as well as our actions can have negative effects.

On Friday, we ended with a guest speaker, John Nunes (former President & CEO of  Lutheran World Relief) came to encourage our students with his life lessons. He challenged students to think outside of the box in terms of being individuals and doing their best without regard for the opinion of others. His perspective has been shaped by his extensive work in Africa where Lutheran World Relief helped to address many of the basic needs of the people there. We ended with a question and answer session that was quite valuable in terms of students engaging on a more personal level.
