Boys Basketball Off to 2-0 Start!

The Lutheran East Men's Basketball team has started the 2014-15 season 2-0 with a convincing win over Community Christian 74-45 this past Friday night, and also beating Fuchs Mizrachi 68-64 last night. Here is a short recap of each game.

The Falcons came away with a convincing 74-45 win over Community Christian on Friday December 5th. The Falcons played solid defense the entire game and were led in scoring by freshman forward Keandre Graves who had a game high 25 points. The falcons also received 12 points from senior forward Bryce Harper and 10 points a piece from freshman guard Alexander Heath and freshman guard Derrick Veasley Jr. The Falcons next game is against Fuchs Mizrachi on Tuesday December 9th.

The Falcons came away with a 68-64 win over Fuchs Mizrachi last night. The falcons played without starting shooting guard Derrick Veasley Jr. who was diagnosed with a stomach virus hours before the game. After leading by as many as 18 points, the falcons saw their lead disappear down to 1 after freshman forward Keandre Graves took a nasty fall to the floor two minutes into the 3rd quarter. The falcons found a way to persevere though behind a stellar scoring performance by sophomore guard Tyler Powell who had a game high 22points. Freshman forward Keandre Graves chipped in 20 points before being ruled out of the game with concussion like symptoms. Freshman point guard Alexander Heath also scored 14 points while adding in 8 assists. Some clutch free throw shooting down the stretch by Powell and Heath sealed the victory for the Falcons.

The Falcons can't celebrate for two long as they turn around and play Lakeridge Academy on Thursday at 7pm.
