Special Projects Campaign and Building Renovations

In 2012, Lutheran East launched a fundraising initiative around 3 different projects. We wanted to update our technological infrastructure and install a high-speed wireless network throughout the school building.  We hoped to add school busing services to students who live some distance away from school.  We also wanted to begin work replacing the decades old roofs which protect our school building.

In every conceivable way, each of these projects has been enormously successful.  We overhauled our servers, high-speed lines in the school, and installed a robust and powerful wi-fi network.  These upgrades are allowing us to become a 1:1 technology school for the upcoming year.  All of our students will be carrying Google Chromebooks as we push 21st Century technology and skills throughout the school day.  We now bus 70 students each day to and from Warrensville Heights and Euclid who otherwise might not be able to attend Lutheran East.  We have replaced 3 out of our 13 roofs, along with portions of our building’s masonry.

As we prepare for our 2015-2016 school year, we are beginning another round of Special Projects for which we will be fundraising.  We hope to raise money to finish off the remaining sections of our roof so that the entire school is protected by modern, warrantied roofs.  While we no longer have any leaks, we want to properly maintain our building so as to continue pushing our school and our product forward instead of worrying about old roofs over our heads.

We are planning on renovating and modernizing each of the 3 sets of public restroom inside our building. Work will begin this summer on the main restrooms near the entrance to the school, using a generous gift from the Cleveland Lutheran Education Endowment Fund.  We hope to then raise money to do the same transformation on the bathrooms upstairs in the classroom wing and those located in the Fine Arts Wing.

Our final project is to refinish and repaint our gym floor and to also the gym’s walls and ceiling.  We replaced all of the lighting in the gym last summer, leading to a much brighter and energy efficient facility.  We now want the gym floor and walls to give that same bright, clean appearance to all visitors and community members who use our facilities over the course of the year.
