Falcons Pummel Whitney Young 50-14
The Falcons built on the momentum of last week's big win over Collinwood in a 50-14 victory at home over Whitney Young. Robert Drake got the team started with a TD run on the first possession - the first of three rushing TD he would have on the day. He finished the first quarter with a long punt return for a TD, putting the Falcons up 19-0 after one quarter of play.
Sophomore Marvelle Harrison returned a punt for a TD and QB Isaiah Jackson ran in his first score of the year as the Falcons finished the first half with a 44-8 lead. Jackson had two rushing TDs on the day to complement Robert Drake's 4 total TD and 200+ rushing yards.
The Falcon defense, led by Andru Brantley and Karlton Pickens played strong all day, limiting the big plays and getting key stops on 3rd downs. The Falcons moved to 2-1 on the season and look to continue their strong play next week.
