Turnovers Doom Falcons in 41-8 Loss
The Lutheran East Falcons dropped to 4-3 on the year after a very difficult loss to Hannibal River, 41-8. The team traveled to Hannibal, OH to take on a Division 6 playoff team and unfortunately could not match the rival. The first quarter resulted in only trailing 7-0 after each team sparred for field position. But miscues and turn overs plagued the Falcons all evening- 2 of which resulted in scores for the Pilots, and the Falcons went into break down 21-0. There were signs of life in the third quarter as Kaylin Heard scampered for a 75 yard run, to later set up his own 1 yard plunge. But the hole that was dug was just too deep, and the clock ran out with a final of 41-8. The defense played very tough for all 4 quarters, but unfortunately the offense could not match the intensity. Rodney Paradise finished the day with 4 catches for 50 yards, 2 carries for 14 yards and 2 kick returns for 25 yards.
Up next for the Falcons is their Homecoming game, Saturday 10/24 versus Division 7 rival Windham.
