Lutheran East Names Next Girls' Basketball Coach
April 15, 2024

Lutheran High School East is pleased to announce James A. Brooks IV as its next girls’ basketball head coach.

Brooks has worked with the Falcons Girls’ Basketball program in an assistant coaching capacity since 2021. In each of his years with the program, the varsity team has earned more wins as compared to the previous year. Brooks has been instrumental in game preparation, in-season and off-season skill development, practice planning, and more.

He has also been employed as a Youth Coach for Kyrie Irving Basketball Camp (2010-2016).

As a high school player at East High School, Brooks averaged 14 points and 9 assists per game in his senior year and was named All-Senate League, All-District, and All-State Honorable Mention. He went on to play two years of collegiate basketball at Vermilion Community College in Ely, MN.

Professionally, Brooks has been employed by The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland since 2008, where he holds the position of Senior Cash Specialist.

Brooks holds an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Vermilion Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing at Cleveland State University.

Lutheran East will publish the girls’ and boys’ basketball schedules for the 2024-2025 season in the fall.

Lutheran East wholeheartedly thanks Coach Mel Burke, who led the girls’ program for the past three seasons.
