Maltz Museum Field Trip
Maltz Museum Field Trip

A highlight of our week at Lutheran East is that Mrs. Chiles’ upper level English classes went on a field trip to the Maltz Museum.  After reading Night by Elie Wiesel, they went to the museum to hear and see first hand what the Holocaust means to the Jewish people.  Students are able to really engage with literature and history through the project they are completing after visiting the museum.  If you are not familiar with Elie Wiesel, he is a great author who tells a very touching story about his family’s account of the Holocaust.  While there are many accounts available, Wiesel has an especially engaging way of capturing the humanity of the human interest story of the Jews who removed from everything and everyone they know.  Also, if you have not visit this local treasure, it is a very educational and inspiring visit to the Maltz Museum.
