Lutheran East vs. Cornerstone Christian

The Lady Falcons lost a hard fought battle on the road Friday night against a tough Cornerstone Christian. Lutheran East played 3 of 4 quarters within 4 points, but ultimately the 3rd quarter proved to be their down fall. Cornerstone came out of halftime with a quick 10 points off of turnovers which made it hard for the Lady Falcons to fight back from. Darjaney Edwards led the way with 19 points for the game, 15 of those coming in the 1st quarter! Kaelin Cobb had a good game starting in place of senior Jeri Pollard who is out with a foot injury. The Lady Falcons now prepare to play Fuch’s Mizrachi next Thursday.

Lutheran East vs. Cornerstone Christian

The Lady Falcons suffered their worst loss of the season this week, dropping another game to Cornerstone Christian. Cornerstone’s sharp shooter who was held near scoreless in their first matchup came out ready to shoot and dropped an impressive 6 3 pointers from downtown. Ultimately quick transition offense and some hot shooting from their guards proved to be too much for Lutheran East to overcome. The Lady Falcons move to 12-8 on the year and now prepare for a tough re-match against Youngstown.

Lutheran East vs. Fuchs Mizrachi

The Lady Falcons took home a decisive win over Fuchs Mizrachi on Thursday night finishing with a score of 55-21. Lutheran East managed to hold them scoreless for the entire 1st quarter while putting up 19 points off of their aggressive full court press. Darjaney Edwards led the team in scoring with 22 points and 8 blocks. Jazmyne Darby chipped in 9 points to go along with her 5 steals and Jamara McDowell led the team with 9 steals on the night. It was a good offensive night for the Falcons with 8 of their 10 girls getting on the scoreboard. Lutheran East moves to 12-8 on the year and now prepares for another tough re-match with Cornerstone Christian on the 10th.

Lutheran East vs. Western Reserve

Lutheran East lost a hard fought battle to Western Reserve finishing with a score of 61-54. Ultimately the little things contributed to the loss; the Lady Falcons gave up a season high 23 offensive rebounds and 29 turnovers. The tenacious press in the 4th quarter brought the game back into life with Lutheran East pulling within 5 with 2 minutes to go. Darjaney Edwards had a HUGE offensive game putting up 26 points, knocking down 5 2’s, 4 3’s, and going 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Jazmyne led the team with 6 assists to Darjaney and also chipped in 4 steals on the night. The Lady Falcons now prepare for their home playoff game against Ledgemont next Wednesday night at 7 pm.

Lutheran East vs. Youngstown Christian

The Lady Falcons lost a tough, long road game Thursday night to Youngstown Christian. Sloppy turnovers and poor rebounding proved to be the demise of the young Lutheran East basketball team. Shooting just 50% from the free throw line, the Falcons left another possible 10 points off of the scoreboard and the tenacity of the guards from Youngstown proved to be too much to handle. Jazmyne Darby and Jamara McDowell led the team with 5 points each. Faith Hardnick led the team on the boards pulling down 8 rebounds on the night. Lutheran East moves to 12-9 and now prepares to play Western Reserve on senior night at home next Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
