More Than Prepared.
Empowered.

To be a Falcon is to rise with purpose, stand with courage, and move forward ready to lead.

At Lutheran East, every student is seen for who they are — and for who they’re becoming. This is a place where potential is recognized, effort is expected, and purpose is cultivated with care and intention.

Students here are part of a movement of growth, leadership, and excellence. As Falcons, they rise to meet
challenges, support one another, and advance beyond expectations in academics, athletics, the arts, and faith.

Lutheran East has become a place where opportunity meets purpose — a Christian private school offering a
rigorous education, vibrant opportunities, and a foundation rooted in faith, open to students from all faith
backgrounds. With an expanding campus, and a deeper commitment to faith formation, students are equipped not just to get into college — but to thrive when they get there, and to lead with purpose wherever they go.

Our graduates carry a foundation built on discipline, belief, and the confidence to lead with integrity — prepared in mind, body, and spirit to shape the world around them.

Ta-Rel Franklin, MBA

During my time at Lutheran East, I learned essential lifelong core values: integrity, accountability, respect, and perseverance. I developed friendships with peers, relationships with teachers and administrators, and above all, a sense of who I am in God’s eyes. Because of Lutheran East, I was accepted by several colleges and universities nationwide. I am currently a college administrator and coach, a career that I find rewarding and purpose-filled.”

Following the development of the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association (an organized effort by Lutheran churches across Northeast Ohio to form a high school rooted in the Lutheran tradition), Cleveland’s Lutheran High School was founded in 1948.

The original Lutheran High School opened in 1948 and was located downtown on Prospect Avenue. The school was home to the Lutheran High School Pioneers, and the first graduating class was the Class of 1952. 1948
In 1956, the Innerbelt Freeway was proposed, and the government exercised eminent domain on the downtown property of Lutheran High School. The Association determined that in place of one downtown school, it would instead construct two high schools, one on the East side and one on the West site. 1956
